The SEDarc governance structure comprises:
Governance Board: is chaired by the Dean/Pro Vice Chancellor of one of the SEDarc Universities. The Board consists of a group of senior managers from SEDarc institutions and includes the Director, Deputy Directors, the EDI Strategic Lead, the SEDarc Manager, with a standing invitation to an ESRC member. The Board meets annually to give high-level guidance and monitor progress on deliverables.
Management Board: is chaired by the SEDarc Director and comprises a group of senior academics from SEDarc member universities including the Deputy Directors, the EDI Operational Lead, the Research in Practice Lead, institutional academic and professional services representatives, the SEDarc Manager, and a student representative. This Board meets four times a year and is responsible for developing policy and process, monitoring performance and approval of the final allocation of awards. Each SEDarc member is represented together with a member of the Student Forum.
Training Group: This Group meets three times a year and is chaired by the Deputy Director (Training). Membership includes the Deputy Director (Partnerships & Placements), the Research in Practice Lead, the EDI Operational Lead, and institutional academic leads. This group is responsible for planning and managing the training budget and delivering training in line with EDI perspectives, taking into account the Development Needs Analysis of the SEDarc students.
Operational Group: This group meets quarterly and is chaired by the SEDarc Manager. It is attended by the SEDarc administrators together with the professional services leads of the SEDarc Universities to discuss the development of SEDarc policies and their implementation at the SEDarc institutions.
Student Forum: This consists of elected representatives from each SEDarc institution.
