Dabis Lecture
Moore Building Auditorium
Professor Alicia Stallings
University of Oxford
For this year's Dabis Lecture, we are delighted to be hosting Alicia Stallings, current Professor of Poetry at the University of Oxford, a Classicist and award-winning poet. Drawing on her various modes of writing, Alicia will offer us a presentation of the ways Classical stories have inspired her creative practice and enabled her to respond to living in Greece, which has been her adopted home for more than two decades. We will reflect on how the Classical mythic stories can inspire our modern creative imaginations and bring us new perspectives on who we are and how we live in a time of global social challenges and climate emergency.
The lecture will be followed by a drinks reception in the foyer of the Moore Building.
Admission is free, but booking is essential.
