Alumni Event in Athens

  • Date04 April 2025

Royal Holloway’s recent visit to Athens offered a wonderful opportunity to connect with our vibrant alumni community in Greece. On Thursday 3 April, we were delighted to host a successful Alumni and Friends Reception at ALBA Graduate Business School, The American College of Greece, bringing together Royal Holloway graduates, ALBA alumni, friends and partners for an evening of celebration, conversation and connection.

The event was hosted by Professor Christos Tsinopoulos, Executive Dean of the School of Business and Management, alongside Janice Rodrigues-Mendes from Royal Holloway’s Philanthropy and Alumni Relations team. The reception provided a relaxed setting for alumni to reconnect, share memories of their time at Royal Holloway, and build new relationships within the local and global alumni networks.

Guests enjoyed a thought-provoking talk from Professor Tsinopoulos, who shared insights into the university’s recently launched strategy and future ambitions, before exploring the timely topic: Geopolitics, AI, and common sense: Selecting strategic business partners in a new order world. His reflections sparked conversations that carried throughout the evening.

With over 1,000 Royal Holloway graduates living in Greece, and a global alumni network of more than 110,000 members, the event celebrated the strength of the Royal Holloway community abroad. It also created a space for meaningful new connections, not only among Royal Holloway alumni, but also between Royal Holloway and ALBA graduates, reflecting shared values and professional interests. We are hoping to be back in Greece soon.
